Learn about 'Bridging the Partisan Divide' with Braver Angels and local League of Women Voters

The League of Women Voters of Roselle-Bloomingdale will host their annual special February meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 9. The program, titled, "Love Your League: Bridging the Partisan Divide," will be 7 to 8 p.m. on Zoom. It will feature a presentation by Chuck Stone, J.D., Illinois coordinator for Braver Angels and Madeline McCarren, Ph.D., volunteer for Braver Angels.

Politics is tough. It always has been. American politics is competitive, thrilling, frustrating - and infuriating. The stakes are high. Issues are important. Outcomes matter. This is why we care, and should care, about politics.

"The recent national election left many Americans feeling more polarized and divided than ever before," said Roberta Borrino, chapter president. "Our League is looking forward to hearing from Braver Angels because they are a bipartisan nonprofit that aims to create meaningful dialogue and understanding across political lines - which is central to our mission."

Braver Angels offers structured programs based on proven family therapy techniques to help people understand the other side's point of view - even if you don't agree with it. Their programs allow you to engage those with whom you disagree and look for common ground along with ways to work together to reduce the political divide among Americans. Braver Angels strives to unite "red" and "blue" Americans in a working alliance to depolarize America.
