Hanover Township tutoring program to begin Feb. 16 for spring semester

The Hanover Township Tutoring Program kicks off on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the town hall in Bartlett.

Certified teachers will provide small group tutoring assistance for all subject matters for students in second to eighth grade. Students in ninth to 12th grade can register for math tutoring. Face coverings will be required and social distancing will be enforced.

Last spring, 54 students participated in the township's tutoring program.

The 10-week program will meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the town hall, 250 S. Route 59. The tutoring fee is $45 per semester.

Tutoring groups are developed based on age, subject matter and learning needs that are identified by referring teachers. Children who attend regularly and bring their school materials/assignments to each session improve in academic performance and become more self-confident.

Due to pandemic, tutoring services and program dates may change.
