Go Left Youth Center hosts Dec. 1 pandemic-themed workshop for parents

On Tuesday, Dec. 1, the nonprofit Go Left Youth Center/ABC Counseling welcomes parents, grandparents and legal guardians to a free workshop, offering tips and coping skills for raising children during these trying times.

The session, entitled "Parenting in 2020," will focus on issues facing families during the pandemic and related stressors. Handling homework while working at home, keeping mentally and physically healthy and why it's important to follow recommended guidelines will be among the topics discussed.

"This is a supportive, educational group session designed to help us through these trying times. We are offering this as our way of saying, you are not alone - we are here to help you," said Mary Crick, founder of Go Left Youth Center/ABC Counseling.

Participants are welcome to attend virtually by Zoom or in person. Those who attend in person will be required to wear masks and to keep a social distance.

"Parenting in 2020" is free to Roselle Bloomingdale Township residents.

The class will run from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, at Go Left Youth Center/ABC Counseling, 901 Lake St., Suite 102, Roselle.
