ECC's Continuing Education Department offers 'crash courses,' lecture series and more

Elgin Community College's Continuing Education Department has released the fall 2020 non-credit course schedule. Most courses begin in September, and range from single day to semester long. All classes are offered remotely at this time.

"There are several new courses we are quite excited about," said Karin Quist, course developer. "Knowing that more people are looking online for enrichment during this time, we wanted to offer something for everyone, from career skills to personal interest to just plain fun."

New courses include "crash courses" in music theory and music appreciation and a series on "Caring for Your Loved Ones," which explores topics in senior care. There is also a series for those interested in self-publishing their work, and a monthly lecture series on folklore, from aliens to Chicago ghost stories and even a lecture on origins of Santa Claus.

Along with scheduled courses, ECC's CE offers one-on-one private tutoring and consulting in a variety of subjects, like photography, event planning, website design, and more.

These sessions can be scheduled at any time during the semester, and meet at a time convenient for you.
