Summer Camps Start Small

Hoffman Estates, IL. Hoffman Estates Park District (HEParks) kicked off the summer camp season this week with small group camps at both Triphahn Center and Willow Recreation Center for children entering Kindergarten through 7th grade.

Explorers Camp offers a variety of summer experiences, including gym games, outdoor games, crafts, nature activities, and science experiments. Each group is limited to 10 campers per area.

Summer camp options also include specialized camps for Hockey, Figure Skating, Soccer, and Dance.

HEParks worked closely with the Park District Risk Management Association (PDRMA) and other local Park Districts to develop program and camp safety guidelines. The plan includes reduced program sizes, curbside pick-up and drop-off, limited interaction between program groups, hourly cleanings of high use areas, increased availability of hand sanitizer, face mask usage, EPA approved disinfecting fogger for program rooms, and daily sanitation of program materials, toys, and equipment. The full list of program safety guidelines is available at HEParks.org/Coronavirus.

Summer camp sessions begin every Monday in June. Registration for camp is due the Friday before the start of camp. Currently, camps run from 9:00a-Noon Monday through Friday. Learn more about summer camps at HEParks.org.
