The Center of Itasca offers stained glass windows kit

The Center of Itasca is a mission-focused church started in 2017. They believe their role in the community is to connect everyone, every day and in every way to Jesus through hands-on demonstrations.

Some of their offerings include: martial arts, STEM Labs, art shows, yoga, recovery, community meals, Parent/Tot Motor Group, parenting classes, meditation groups, leadership training, Bible studies, and even Sunday morning worship. All except the martial arts is offered fee to the community.

Another offering is the Stained Glass Window Project. Stained glass dates back to the fourth century.

The windows offered a picture book to tell the story of hope offered in the scriptures. The inspiring messages helped those struggling to deal with the injustices of medieval life a sense of hope in the future. Stained glass windows continue to offer this relief.

To start the project, the Center of Itasca reached out to others in the community for partners, including private donors, the Bensenville/Wood Dale Food Pantry, as well as EarthPaint.Org.

The free kits are The Center's way of facilitating hope in the future, especially in a time inundated with bad news. It also provides families a time of shared activity that is both fun, educational and meaningful.

The kits have everything needed to create a personal stained-glass window. They come with instructions, a learning guide, possible designs, paint, tape, color-mixing cups, stirring sticks, sponges, a drop cloth and even clothespins for those who don't like to get messy. The new containers even have a cleanup bucket!

The Center has even produced a "how-to" video to help those who are not normally the crafting type.

While the kits are free, The Center of Itasca and Earthpaint.org are accepting donations at communitycenter.life/give-volunteer or earthpaint.org.
