Wheaton church to host annual Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Jan. 20

Join your neighbors at "Living The Dream," the 30th annual DuPage County Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, at Gary United Methodist Church in Wheaton.

This event welcomes people of all races, faith traditions, ethnic backgrounds and economic classes, along with public, educational, business and religious leaders, to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. King on this national holiday.

The keynote speaker will be Rev. James Miller, senior pastor of DuPage AME Church in Lisle.

Dr. Miller, son of the late Presiding Elder Roy L. Miller and the late Dr. Evelyn Davis Miller, is one of the co-founders of the DuPage County MLK celebration. He has pastored three churches and is the author of the book "Go Build A Church: Spiritual Administration for Growth."

The event will include singing by Wheaton's Second Baptist Church Music Ministry, performances by George Saltar, "Motivator G", and Brittany Cooper. For more information, you may contact the MLK Committee at (630) 260-0190 and visit the website at www.dupagemlk.org.

Gary United Methodist Church is located just north of downtown Wheaton at 224 N. Main St. Parking is available in the church lot and on surrounding streets.
