Schaumburg Library swears in new trustee
Schaumburg Township District Library welcomed new library board Trustee Erin Flannigan-Davies, who was sworn at the Nov. 18 board meeting.
The library's board of trustees consists of seven members. A seat was vacated earlier this year when Gerald Bromley moved out of the library's service district.
Board President Anita Forte-Scott noted that Flannigan-Davies "stood out amongst a very highly qualified pool of applicants for the vacant trustee position. She clearly and thoroughly communicated that she has the experience, knowledge and ability to serve the patrons of our Library with professionalism, care and understanding."
Flannigan-Davies has been a resident of Schaumburg for 30 years. She has business world experience -- working at Allstate Insurance for 30 years -- as well as board experience -- serving on a homeowner's association board for 16 years. She plans to bring the knowledge she has gained from these areas to the library board.
"I love all the library has to offer," Flannigan-Davies said. "I'm looking forward to serving our community and being a good steward of our taxpayer money as a trustee of this wonderful library."
Board President Forte-Scott said operating with a full board contingent is very important. "We're ready to move forward with future library endeavors, confident that Erin will nicely complement the current contingent of board members."
