Rosalind Franklin University announces new board officers

North Chicago-based Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science announces its recent election of officers to its Board of Trustees, including Chair Elizabeth Coulson, Vice Chair Pamela Scholl, Treasurer Michael C. Foltz and Secretary Sandra Bruce.

"These dedicated leaders bring deep expertise and will champion our university's mission and values," said RFU President and CEO Dr. Wendy Rheault. "Their knowledge and commitment will help ensure our institutional well-being as we continue to educate professionals who will shape the future of health."

Elizabeth Coulson, of Glenview, served in the Illinois State Legislature from 1997 to 2010, representing the 17th district. She held numerous national-level consultative and advisory positions, including with the White House Working Group of State Legislators for Health Reform and the Council of State Governments Health and Human Services Committee. She has 40 years of healthcare professional experience, including 20 years as an educator of health professionals.

Pamela Scholl, of Winnetka, is chairman and president of the Dr. Scholl Foundation, which supports a broad range of educational, cultural, and civic programs. She previously served as director of special projects for the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Washington, DC, including the International Councillors chaired by Dr. Henry Kissinger.

Michael C. Foltz, of Glen Ellyn, is a principal of Balasa Dinverno Foltz, LLC, a private wealth management firm. An attorney, certified public accountant and certified financial planner, he practiced estate planning and business transactional law with Dinverno & Foltz LLP for more than 20 years.

Sandra Bruce, of Berrien Springs, MI, was named the first president and CEO of the Presence Health system, which joined Ascension and Amita Health in 2018. She has more than 35 years of healthcare executive experience, including as the president and CEO of Resurrection Health Care and CEO of Trinity Health's Saint Alphonsus Health System in Boise, ID.
