Marquette Manor Minutemen win 2019 IACS varsity volleyball state title
The Marquette Manor Minutemen entered the eight-team state final as the No. 3 seed but were able to eliminate the No. 2 seed Mississippi Valley Christian (Alton) in the semifinal and the No. 1 seed Maryville Christian (Maryville) in a two-set championship win 25-22 / 25-16.
Seniors Brianna Marks (Bolingbrook) and Emma Mukenschnabl (Darien) were named to the All-Tournament team.
Saturday's win marked the seventh Illinois Association of Christian Schools title for the volleyball program.
The Minutemen finished their season 16-4. The team is coached by Tamara Mukenschnabl and Jill Scalzitti.
