Blue Moon Gallery Hosts Oct 26 Solo Exhibition of Internationally Acclaimed Local Artist Dan Simoneau 'Quartet For Mind And Soul'

Blue Moon Gallery, 18620 Belvidere RD, Grayslake, IL will host a breathtaking solo exhibition of paintings by Southeastern Wisconsin artist Dan Simoneau. It's on display weekends or by appointment from Oct. 22 through Nov. 15, 2019.

Simoneau's figurative and abstract paintings, in mainly acrylic and some watercolor, have won numerous international, regional and local awards. His unique viewpoint and technique have intrigued amateur and master painters alike.

The opening reception for "Quartet for Mind and Soul" will be Sat., Oct. 26, from 6 to 9 PM. Hear Dan's informative gallery talk and learn how he creates memorable, sensitive works. Two of his models plan to attend. Don't miss Dan unveiling a never-publicly-seen new work, all beginning at 7 PM.

Simoneau is an elected and juried member as a painter and as a photographer of the prestigious Salmagundi Club in Manhattan, N.Y.C. His latest work and artistic outlook, sometimes depicting the personal impact of current events, are featured in a video and radio interview on the WGTD public radio Facebook page video posted on Oct. 15.

Dan Simoneau has been painting and exhibiting professionally for over 45 years. He holds "signature status" in the American Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society, the National Society of Painters in Casein and Acrylic, the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society, and the International Society of Acrylic Painters, of which he is a Signature Master and the President. He is also a Fellow of the American Artists Professional League.

Regarding his dual membership in the Salmagundi Club: The Club is one of the oldest art societies in the country, founded in 1871. Among its most noteworthy members have been N.C. Wyeth, Andrew Wyeth's father, and Louis Comfort Tiffany of stained-glass fame. Dan's work is in public and private collections throughout the world.

A contemporary realist, Dan's work has been exhibited extensively throughout the United States. Recently, Dan had a solo exhibition of paintings at the Kenosha Public Museum. His work has also been published in several European books and journals. He has also had work published in North Light Books AcrylicWorks and in Splash publications. Dan teaches art occasionally at the Wustum Museum of Art in Racine, WI and the Kenosha Public Museum in Kenosha, WI. He has juried regional exhibitions of artwork in all media.

His primary medium is acrylic on canvas. He also paints in transparent watercolor and acrylic on paper, and oil on canvas. The exhibition, "Quartet for Mind and Soul," will feature acrylic, oil, and watercolor work from several series over the past few years.
