Michael Matters Foundation event raises record funds

The recent Michael Matters Foundation "Racing to Beat Brain Cancer" event at Arlington International Racetrack raised a record-breaking $104,000, with a sold-out crowd of 225 attendees.

"We are thrilled … as [the funds raised] will provide 52 grants to brain tumor patients and their families in need," said Marisa Schostok Buckley, president, Michael Matters Foundation.

The Michael Matters Foundation provides incidental financial support to primary brain cancer patients and families. Through partnerships with leading hospitals, including NorthShore University HealthSystem, Michael Matters grants cover costs such as gas, mortgage, utilities, groceries, medications and travel expenses so families can focus on their care rather than financial pressures.
