Girgis Orthodontics returns as Woodridge Rotary 20th Mini Triathlon Sponsor

Dr. Robert Girgis and his orthodontic team at 7350 Janes Ave.Woodridge have signed on as a Gold Sponsor for the Woodridge Rotary 20th Mini Triathlon scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 11. The Mini Triathlon is Chicagoland's largest Mini Triathlon and a major event for Woodridge, attracting several thousand participants and spectators. This is the 20th anniversary year for the event.

"The support of Dr. Girgis and his team affirms the work of the Woodridge Rotary. We help children and families in the community. This support continues that mission and tradition. This is a great community, social, and athletic activity-and our sponsors help support many worthy community projects," said Debbie Mascitti, Woodridge Rotary President.

Dr. Robert F. Girgis has been treating children, adolescents, and adults since 1989. His energy and commitment to making orthodontic care a pleasant experience is evident throughout his office. Dr. Girgis and staff are dedicated to providing you and your child with professional yet personal care. His practice uses the most advanced techniques to provide the most effective means of correcting each individual's orthodontic problem.

The Mini Triathlon, held at the Woodridge Park District's award-winning Cypress Cove Family Aquatic Park, 8301 Janes Ave. is the major fundraiser for the Woodridge Rotary Club. Registration ends Wednesday, Aug. 7 at 6:30 p.m.

The Woodridge Club's fundraising seeks to provide opportunities for children and families to enrich their lives. Each year 15 projects and organizations are supported by proceeds from the Mini Triathlon.

The Mini Triathlon is geared towards athletes (Ages 7 and up) of all abilities, shapes and sizes. Whether participants are rookie triathletes, seasoned veterans in training, or

weekend warriors, the event is the perfect distance: a 250-yard swim (10 lengths of the pool), a 10K (6.2 mile) bike ride, and then a 2-mile run.

The KiDs Event, for youth athletes (ages 7 to 12), starts at 10:30 a.m., and includes a 100-yard swim (4 lengths of the pool), a 5K (3.1 mile) bike ride and a 1-mile run.
