We Want You…! Join the Uncle Sam 5K and Little Patriot's Kids Dash Sunday, July 7

Area residents will let freedom ring while they participate in the third annual Uncle Sam 5K and Kids Dash in Palatine's historic downtown Sunday, July 7. The event starts and ends at popular downtown restaurant, Tap House Grill, 56 W. Wilson St. The Kids Dash begins at 8:40 a.m. and the 5K starts at 9 a.m.

To honor the home of the brave, participants will don their red, white and blue, or a short sleeve Dri-Fit shirt - along with an Uncle Sam hat included with event registration. In addition to walkers and runners, mothers with children in their strollers are invited to 'soldier on' and get in on the fun.

"There is no better way to cap off the Independence Day holidays celebrations than gathering with family and friends, for a fun and healthy activity," said Aaron Del Mar, Adrenaline Special Events founder. "I invite area residents to create some lasting memories for this special holiday that celebrates the good old U.S.A."

Event proceeds will be donated to charity partner the Palatine Park Foundation, a local not-for-profit organization dedicated to contributing to the health and well-being of all Palatine Park District residents.

Awards and a medal will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers, and the top three runners of each age group. All Kid Dashers will receive an Uncle Sam hat and race bib. An after party to honor our sweet land of liberty will be held at Tap House Grill immediately following the race. All participants will receive one complimentary beverage and a breakfast sandwich.
