Lake County Family Dental Care donated dental care May 31

On May 31, 2019, Dr. David Potts, Dr. Ola Mahmood, and the Lake County Family Dental Care team hosted their 10th annual of Smiles From The Heart event. This was a free day of dentistry for those 18 years and older who need dental treatment. As a growing number of Americans lack dental insurance, Dr. Potts and Dr. Mahmood felt that this was a great way to address the problems people are facing with their oral health and also an opportunity to give back to the community.

33 patients were treated to more than $15,000 of free dentistry at the event! Though all of the volunteers were tired by the end of the day, it was very rewarding. To make the day a success, the volunteers included: 2 dentists, 3 hygienists, 4 business personnel, 3 dental assistants, and 9 e volunteers from the community and Libertyville Rotary Club. Thank you to all our volunteers and donors for their generous commitments!

Some patients needed further treatment and were given contact information to the Lake County Health Department and the University of Illinois (Chicago) dental school.

Patients were very appreciative of the time and dentistry that were offered. Many wrote thank you notes expressing their gratitude. Photos may be viewed online at: www.libertyvilledentist.com

All in all it was a fabulous day and Dr. Potts plans to continue the tradition next year. Remember to Smile - it's free!
