Downers Grove doctor returns to private practice

Have you noticed that in the suburbs of Chicago, most primary care physicians are now allied with a hospital physician group?

Personalized care provided by a single doctor from the office to the specialist or hospital and back again is hard to find in our area these days!

There are a few primary care doctors still practicing in a traditional fashion and Dr. Gerald Simon, geriatric and internal medicine specialist, is one of them.

Dr. Simon is proud to announce his return to private practice and his new alliance with a local, private physician group.

Reverting to private practice from a hospital-based group allows Dr. Simon and his staff to oversee all aspects of a patient's care.

He does not work with hospitalists and sees his patients who may be admitted to the hospital.

His practice recently expanded to include Nurse Practitioner Jacqueline Celmer, FNP, whose addition allows patients to get appointments sooner.

The staff includes a phlebotomist who can draw blood for lab tests in the doctor's office.

Their office may use the latest in medical records technology, but their approach is that of traditional primary care.

Specializing in care for all adults, including those 65 years or older, Dr. Simon and Ms. Celmer oversee all aspects of a patient's health and have done so for decades.

The practice name is Adult Medicine Physicians and Dr. Simon is on staff at Adventist LaGrange Memorial Hospital, Adventist Hinsdale Hospital and Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital. He has office locations in Downers Grove, near Westmont (331) 775-2783, and in Countryside, close to I-55 (708) 352-5222.
