Deerfield Cub Scout Pack 50 is under new leadership and Cubmaster Alan Kaufman and Committee Chairman Brian McGahan cordially invite the community to come celebrate at our Fun Fair on May 3, 2019 at 6:30PM at the South Park Elementary Gym!

Cubmaster George Shapkarov has reluctantly passed the leadership responsibilities of Cub Scout Pack 50 on to Alan Kaufman.

Alan is an experienced Scouter and invites anyone with an interest in Scouting to join us at the Fun Fair on May 3!

Cub Scouts it is about service to family and community. Service that is mentally, physically, and spiritually rewarding. You will find no other activity that is as rewarding as Scouting.

As a Boy Scout, Alan went canoeing down an alligator infested river, learned orienteering in the middle of a forest, spent the night in a tent on the beach, spent an entire weekend on the USS Yorktown. Alan is an Eagle Scout that started out as a Tiger Cub.

The BSA program teaches what is sorely missing from our schools. Our schools, especially now, teach our children to pass standardized tests. Our kids start off each day reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, but can any of them tell us what it means or why we say it?

BSA teaches values, life skills, and probably most importantly duty to G-d and Country. It is literally the opening statement to the Scout Oath that we recite at beginning of every Den and Pack Meeting---"...I will do my best to do my duty to G-d and my Country. " The oath is critical to understanding what it means to be a Scout. Boys and girls of all faiths and backgrounds are welcome in Scouting, it is a non-denominational program and that creates a melting pot of values that shape our program. These are not things that our children learn in school.

To that end, Cub Scout Pack 50 is having a Fun Fair on May 3, 2019 at 6:30PM at the South Park Elementary main gym.

Scouts and the entire family will enjoy visiting booths with fun activities and games, learning Scout skills, meeting new friends and tasting the delicious food and WIN PRIZES. Meet leaders and Scouts from your neighborhood.

The Fun Fair is open to the public and is free; there are tons of activities at the Fun Fair that the entire family will enjoy.
