Call for artists for 'Up Close and Personal' exhibit at the Norris

The Norris Gallery committee invites artists to submit up to three original pieces for judging for the winter 2019 exhibit "Up Close and Personal: Show Us a World That Can Be Easily Missed." The entry deadline is Wednesday, Nov. 21. All entries must be submitted online only. The works must be original in concept and execution.

A nonrefundable artist entry fee of $30 is payable to Norris Cultural Arts Center, and all artists will be notified of status of entries by Friday, Dec. 7.

The accepted work drop-off date will be 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, and the show will be Jan. 12 through Feb. 17. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.

A reception and awards presentation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27.

The Norris will retain 30 percent of the selling price on each work sold in the gallery to defray operating expenses.

Awards of Excellence will be presented for this juried show during the artists' reception. Information about the show judge will be posted on the Norris website.

Artists are encouraged to submit a resume or artist statement to be displayed during the show.
