Learn about cryptocurrency, blockchain at ECC Sept. 13
Chicago-area blockchain expert Rohit Tandon, CEO and founder of Chainworks, will discuss "Enterprise Blockchain, Cryptocurrencies and the Road Ahead" at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, in Elgin Community College's Spartan Auditorium, Building G, Room G100, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin. The event is free and open to the public.
Blockchain is a uniquely disruptive force for businesses and academia alike. Anyone interested in learning more about cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin and the blockchain technology behind it that acts as a digital ledger, are encouraged to attend.

Attendees can expect to learn about the fundamentals of cryptocurrencies, the natural use cases for enterprise blockchain and why now is the time to engage with blockchain technology.
Event speaker Rohit Tandon has been on the cutting edge of c-suite advisory around blockchain, initial coin offerings (ICO), data management and cloud adoption. Throughout his career, he has been an industry leader in contemporary IT architecture. Tandon is a certified architect in several emerging blockchain protocols, and has leveraged big data, cloud analytics, robotic process automation and blockchain development to grow Elevondata.com, an open source and cloud platform-based data-as-a-service provider; and Chainworks.com, a blockchains solutions provider and consultancy.
Tandon has served as the chief blockchain officer for Lucidexchange.io, blockchain advisor at Thought.Live, and advisor to the CEO of Loyakk.io. He was Oracle's global product strategist, led Oracle's North American business intelligence and technology consulting practice, and served on the board of directors for iControl (Goldman Sachs), a leading payment processor for the retail industry.
On Wednesday, Oct. 17 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., ECC will offer a non-credit Blockchain Technology Workshop, also led by Chainworks.
