Palatine Park District Continues Free Concerts in August

August represents the end of summer and Palatine Park District is presenting a variety of free concerts to celebrate the rest of the summer season. The summer concert series includes Main Stage Concerts at the Fred P. Hall Amphitheater, Towne Square Spotlights featuring local talent, and Friday Family Picnic Concerts that are perfect for children. For a complete list of summer events, visit palatineparks.org or look for our Sounds of Summer program guide at Birchwood Recreation Center, Community Center, or Falcon Park Recreation Center. Concert programs will also be available at each concert throughout the summer.

August 1 • 8:00pm - The Nick Pontarelli Band (Fred P. Hall Amphitheater, 256 E. Palatine Road, Palatine)

The Nick Pontarelli Band has made their mark on the Chicago music scene with a fresh take on all the greats, including Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Frankie Valli, Bobby Darin, Elvis, Neil Diamond and many more. Enjoy a night filled with your favorite songs performed the way you know and love them. Nick and the band's unique ability to entertain will keep the crowd excited and dancing all night long.

August 2 • 6:30pm - The Tenors 3 (Towne Square, 150 W. Palatine Road, Palatine)

The Tenors 3 are a professional trio of classically trained tenor vocalists performing a diverse musical landscape with a touch of comedy. Their repertoire encompasses Opera, Broadway, Operetta, Standards, Ethnic Favorites, Holiday Melodies, and much more, leaving you always with a song in your heart and a smile on your face.

August 3 • 12:00pm - ScribbleMonster (Towne Square, 150 W. Palatine Road, Palatine)

ScribbleMonster and his pals provide positive fun with an edge for the younger crowd. Having first appeared in a series of children's books published by The ScribbleBooks Company, the goal of ScribbleMonster is to provide children with fun opportunities to get creative and inspire their own creative expression in art, thought, music and play.

August 8 • 8:00pm - Allegro Community Chorus (Fred P. Hall Amphitheater, 256 E. Palatine Road, Palatine)

Palatine Park District's Allegro Community Chorus, under the artistic direction of Kevin Kelly, presents another main stage summer performance at the Fred P. Hall Amphitheater. Come see this fast-growing chorus of talented community members blend their voices and fill the band shell with choral arrangements of the season.

August 10 • 8:00pm - American English (Fred P. Hall Amphitheater, 256 E. Palatine Road, Palatine)

Relive the days of the Beatles! Using instruments identical to those used by the legendary group, this Palatine favorite has an uncanny ability to reproduce the vocal style and harmonies of the Beatles. Not only will they bring back fond memories for those who were there, but they bring to life the sounds of those who never had a chance to see the Fab Four live.

Thursday, September 6 • 7:00pm (Rescheduled Date and Time) - 7th Heaven (Fred P. Hall Amphitheater, 256 E. Palatine Road, Palatine)

Get ready for an experience you just must see and hear! 7th Heaven has charted #1 on the Midwest Billboard Charts three times in the past three years. The band has been heard on over 7 radio stations in Chicagoland with their hits "Stoplight," "Better This Way," and "Sing." Also known for the famous "30 Songs in 30 Minutes" medley featuring tunes from the 70's and 80's.

During Sounds of Summer Main Stage concerts, Pizza Bella's Poolside Café will be open until 9:00pm located near the preschool building. Restroom facilities are available at the amphitheater. The weather hotline is 847-705-5123, x431.
