Fox Valley Hands of Hope offers 'Hope for the Holidays'

The Fox Valley Hands of Hope offers support during the holidays.

The approaching holiday season can trigger powerful emotions for those who have recently lost a loved one.

If you or someone you know could use some help getting through some of the holiday's most difficult times, Fox Valley Hands of Hope is offering "Hope for the Holidays."

Participants will gain coping skills for the holiday season and ideas for incorporating the memory of the loved one into holiday traditions.

The evening will close with a short candlelight remembrance service.

It is free, but registration is required in advance by calling (630) 232-2233.

Choose from two sessions: from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays, Nov. 16 or Dec. 7 at the nonprofit, 200 Whitfield Drive, Geneva.

"Hope for the Holidays for Children" will be running concurrently with "Hope for the Holidays" adult support.

There must be a parent/guardian attending the "Hope for the Holidays" on Dec. 7.

Children, age 6-12, will spend this time sharing stories, engaging in activities with other children and creating something special to take home in memory of their loved one this holiday season.

Registration is required. Contact Jill Thorson at (630) 232-2233 or jthorson@fvhh.net.
