Three-term Wood Dale mayor facing challenger in April election

Three-term Wood Dale Mayor Nunzio Pulice will face a challenger in the April election.

Two minutes before Monday's filing deadline, Lindsay Boyd submitted his paperwork to run against Pulice. The 66-year-old Boyd is a Navy veteran and former attorney, real estate agent and firefighter/paramedic who said Tuesday he's been a Wood Dale resident for nine years.

Motivated while attending city council meetings in recent years, Boyd said he's running to ensure Wood Dale's future remains strong.

"I've always been involved in public service," Boyd said. "I believe I have good experience and a good background to bring to the city and create better opportunities for the city."

First elected in 2011, Pulice said Monday he's running again to continue to develop infrastructure projects and attract new businesses to Wood Dale.

"We want to keep moving forward and put ourselves on solid ground going into the future," Pulice said. "We're definitely headed in a much better direction than we used to be."
