'Classical Treasures' at Northbrook Symphony

The third performance of the Northbrook Symphony's 2021-22 season, "Classical Treasures," will be held Feb. 27 at the Sheely Center in Northbrook.

Maestro Mina Zikri will conduct the professional symphony through performances of Beethoven's "Overture to Creatures of Prometheus, Opus 43"; Haydn's Symphony No. 4 in D Major, "London"; and Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 5 in A Major.

Joining the symphony for the Mozart piece will be violinist Jacqueline Audas, a recipient of the North Shore Chamber Music Festival Arkady Fomin Scholarship.

"Classical Treasures" will be held at 4 p.m. Feb. 27 at the Sheely Center for the Performing Arts, 2300 Shermer Road, Northbrook. Jim Kendros will provide a preconcert lecture at 2:45 p.m. There also will be a post-concert discussion with Zikri and Audas.

This concert is a collaboration between the Northbrook Symphony and the North Shore Chamber Music Festival.
