Glenbrook South hockey wins rivalry game against North; event benefits Northfield Twp. Food Pantry

The Glenbrook South hockey team won 3-1 in a rivalry game against Glenbrook North at Centennial Ice Rink in Wilmette on the day before Thanksgiving.

Glenbrook South's Jason Ban scored with 54 seconds left in the first period on a goal assisted by Jack Mulvey and Mason Dolby. Will Papalas put the Titans up 2-0 with an unassisted goal with 2:29 left in the second period.

North's Michael Dimoff cut the Titans' lead in half when he scored a goal for the Spartans with 14:18 left in the third period, assisted by Josh Pick and Conor Katsamakis.

South's Erik Steenstrup scored with 5:50 left in the third period, assisted by Adrian Sokol.

The Titans had 30 shots, while the Spartans had 27.

Prior to the start of the game, a $5,000 check was presented by captains from both teams to the Northfield Township Food Pantry.

Jim Cornelison of the Chicago Blackhawks sang the national anthem.
