Fall color walks on tap at Volo Bog, Moraine Hills
Fall color walks are scheduled at Volo Bog State Natural Area in Ingleside from 10 to 11:30 a.m. this Saturday and Sunday and on Saturday, Nov. 6. Another walk will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, at Moraine Hills state park in McHenry.
At Volo Bog, participants should meet under the oak tree in front of the visitors center, 28478 Brandenberg Road. Reservations are requested at dnr.volobog@illinois.gov or (815) 344-1294. Leave a cellphone number and number of adults and kids ages 5 and older. Walk-ins are welcome, but the event will be canceled if minimum registration isn't met 24 hours before.
At Moraine Hills, 1510 S. River Road, participants should meet at the Northern Woods parking area near the playground.
