3 Bloomingdale men plead guilty to cocaine possession

Three Bloomingdale men have pleaded guilty to cocaine possession charges.

Samuel Resendez, Missael Resendez and Eli G. Resendez, all of the 100 block of Euclid, entered their pleas July 1, according to DuPage County court records.

Eli Resendez, 34, was sentenced to six years in prison on a charge of possession of more than 15 grams, but fewer than 100 grams, of cocaine.

Missael Resendez, 25, accepted a sentence of 24 months probation and 36 days in jail on a charge of possession of 1 to 15 grams of cocaine.

Samuel Resendez, 30, was sentenced to 90 days in the sheriff's work-release program for possession of 1 to 15 grams of cocaine.

They were among nine people arrested Feb. 28, 2020, on drugs and weapons charges in a sweep by DuPage County, Addison and federal law enforcement agencies. Four of the others are awaiting trial, and one pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm by a street gang member and criminal damage to property.

One of the arrestees was a juvenile.
