Local agencies take part in Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois

On Saturday, June 5, men and women from multiple police agencies, local Special Olympics athletes and their friends and families took part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics at Veterans Acres Park in Crystal Lake.

This event raised funds and awareness on behalf of Special Olympics Illinois. The following police agencies were in attendance and participated; Algonquin, Crystal Lake, Crystal Lake Park District, Lake in the Hills, McHenry, McHenry County Sheriff's Department, and Woodstock.

Multiple local businesses provided food and water donations, including the following; Algonquin Jewel-Osco, Algonquin Jimmy John's, Algonquin Meijer store, Lake in the Hills Jersey Mike's, and Crystal Lake Mariano's.
