Eric Fischer Memorial Ride benefits North Suburban YMCA on June 13

Eric Fischer of Wheeling had a larger-than-life personality and was one that focused on giving back. He was a beloved friend and family member who gave much joy and support to the community as he could.

Last year, Eric Fischer passed suddenly which has left a hole in not only the lives of those who loved him, but the community as well.

To honor his life and legacy, Eric's family and friends want to continue the giving spirit and create the NSYMCA's Eric Fischer Memorial Fund. This fund will help the North Suburban YMCA in Northbrook supply financial aid to families, seniors, and children in 15 surrounding communities they serve, so they can attend Y programs regardless of ability to pay.

The inaugural Eric Fischer Memorial Ride to benefit this fund starts at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, June 13, at Willow Creek Community Church, 67 Algonquin Road, South Barrington. Riders continue to North Suburban YMCA, 2705 Techny Road, Northbrook, where a memorial celebration follows from noon to 3 p.m. with food, music and "motorcycle mania."

The suggested donation is $20 for riders, $5 for passengers and $10 for the celebration only at the Y in Northbrook. Proceeds benefit the Eric Fischer Memorial Fund, which helps provide access to Y programs for children, families and seniors, regardless of their ability to pay.
