107 more COVID-19 cases in Glenview and Northbrook

One person in Northbrook died of COVID-19 in the past week, and 107 people in Glenview and Northbrook were newly diagnosed with the disease, the Cook County public health and medical examiner's offices reported.

In Northbrook, deaths now stand at 110 since the pandemic began with 2,702 positive cases, 50 of them in the past week.

In Glenview, 99 people have died since the pandemic began. Glenview has had 3,688 people test positive overall, 57 of them in the past week.

In the previous week, Feb. 10-16, Glenview had two deaths and 44 new cases, and Northbrook had three deaths and 42 new cases.

As of Tuesday, suburban Cook County had 228,093 cases and 4,448 deaths, according to the state. In Chicago there have been 242,840 cases and 4,843 deaths.

There have been 501,863 COVID-19 cases across suburban Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will counties as of Tuesday. That's almost 42.6% of the state's total, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. There have been 8,402 deaths in the suburbs, which is 41.3% of all COVID-19 deaths in Illinois.

Total cases statewide stand at 1,177,320, and 20,330 Illinoisans have died since the pandemic began.
