56 new COVID-19 cases in Glenview and Northbrook in past week; no new deaths

Fifty-six new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the past week in Glenview and Northbrook, but there were no new deaths, Cook County public health and medical examiner's offices reported. There were 44 new cases in Glenview and 12 in Northbrook from Sept. 2 through Tuesday.

In Glenview, 894 people have tested positive and 51 people have died since the pandemic began. In Northbrook, 514 have tested positive and 42 have died.

In the previous week, Aug. 26 - Sept. 1, Glenview cases increased by 23 and Northbrook cases increased by 28, and one person from Glenview died.

Suburban Cook County had 58,224 cases and 2,201 deaths as of Tuesday, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

In Chicago there were 73,828 cases and 2,897 fatalities.

Suburban Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will counties had recorded 117,387 COVID-19 cases, 46.5% of the state's total, and 4,007 deaths, 49% of the state's total, as of Tuesday.

Illinois had 252,353 cases, including 8,186 deaths.
