Cove School in Northbrook is a place for students to learn, grow, flourish

For more than 70 years, The Cove School has believed every child, given appropriate support, accommodations and time, has potential to learn, grow and flourish.

A private K-12, coed day school, Cove is a national leader in learning disability education and a special education center approved by Illinois State Board of Education. The school has students with speech and language disabilities, are other health impaired, and have emotional disabilities and traumatic brain injuries.

During remote learning, Cove took the opportunity to upgrade its facilities and health and safety procedures. Cove features antimicrobial countertops in newly renovated bathrooms, hand sanitizing stations and water bottle filling stations throughout the building. Classroom furniture was upgraded to eliminate the need for shared desks or chairs. Other improvements include a schoolwide bipolar ionization air filtration system and antiviral flooring in high-traffic areas.

Cove also invested in new classroom technology to provide synchronous instruction for remote learning. Through the use of Viewsonic Interactive Boards, Phonic Ear, and Padcasters, instruction will be livestreamed and highly interactive.

Whether a parent chooses in-person or remote learning, the education at Cove is exceptional!

Parents, teachers and specialists work hand-in-hand to ensure the best educational plans for students. When students arrive, they feel safe - yet challenged to reach their fullest potential - and they often make new friends, establishing social relationships that are so important in life.
