Dispensary feeding hospital workers
The EarthMed cannabis store in Addison is partnering with American Tap Pub & Eatery in Addison to donate meals this month to workers at Amita Adventist Medical Center GlenOaks in Glendale Heights.
EarthMed is paying American Tap to provide two deliveries of 55 to 60 meals a day for workers on shift at 11:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. in the emergency department and intensive care unit at the hospital.
Mike Perez, chief operating officer of EarthMed, said providing the meals gives his business two ways to give back, first by helping the restaurant stay in business and second by feeding hospital workers who are busy caring for patients amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The meal deliveries are set to continue each day throughout April.
