Small business resource fair Friday in Schaumburg

Cook County Commissioner Kevin B. Morrison will host a Small Business Resource Fair in Schaumburg on Friday to connect small business owners, startups and entrepreneurs with community and government resources.

The free event is set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Roosevelt University, 1440 N. Roosevelt Blvd., Schaumburg

"My family owns and operates a small business, so I know how hard these individuals work," Morrison said in an announcement of the event. "Small businesses are the economic engines of communities across my district, and I want to do everything I can as commissioner to help them succeed and grow.

Attendees will be able to speak one-on-one with representatives from more than a dozen community and government organizations with programming designed to assist small businesses, startups, and entrepreneurs grow or start a business. There will be three presentations from Cook County agencies: 6B and 7C Tax Incentives 101, presented by the Cook County Assessor's Office; How to do Business with Cook County, presented by the Office of the Chief Procurement Officer; and BUILT in Cook County Loan Program to Support Economic Development, presented by the Cook County Bureau of Economic Development.
