Traffic alert: Water main break closes road in Winfield
A water main break temporarily shut down a road in Winfield that leads to Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital, village officials said.
Crews blocked off Winfield Road from Manchester Road to Williams Street, according to a Facebook post Tuesday evening from Village President Erik Spande. Spande characterized the water main break as "major."
The road appeared to be crumbling and buckling in photos posted by village members on Facebook.
Spande told residents to expect repairs to take "a considerable amount of time."
