Schaumburg woman sentenced to 7 years for Streamwood robbery

A Schaumburg woman was sentenced to seven years in prison for her role in robbing two men in Streamwood.

Gabriella Kennedy, 20, who authorities initially said was from Hoffman Estates, pleaded guilty this month to armed robbery in exchange for the sentence, court records show.

Kennedy was also ordered to pay $669 in fines. She received credit for 697 days in custody, according to court records.

Prosecutors said Kennedy and an unnamed girl met the victims a month before the robbery and arranged to meet up in Streamwood to smoke marijuana in August 2016. After the pair directed the victims to drive to the 200 block of Kensington Drive, two masked men approached the car and took a backpack containing marijuana and a cellphone from the victims. The masked men also took a purse and cellphone from Kennedy and the girl.

Streamwood police discovered messages on a cellphone in which they said Kennedy and the girl discussed robbing the men, prosecutors said.
