Man charged with displaying porn along Prairie Path

A 52-year-old Chicago man is free on $1,500 bail after he was accused of displaying pornography in a DuPage County Forest Preserve.

John Holland, of the 10,000 block of South Avenue, is charged with obscenity, disorderly conduct and littering.

Forest preserve officials did not immediately reply to a call seeking comment, but according to court records, Holland displayed pornographic photos and materials along the Illinois Prairie Path inside Pratt's Wayne Woods Forest Preserve on June 16 in a manner that disturbed and alarmed others.

His next court appearance is scheduled for July 16 in Courtroom 4005.

Less than a month ago, William Winnie, 68, of the 1100 block of Greensfield Drive in Naperville, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and was sentenced to one year of court supervision and 30 hours of community service and prohibited from entering the woods for a year for similar allegations.

Prosecutors in that case said Winnie, an avid cyclist, left pornography and women's underwear along the Prairie Path at various times between October and December 2017. When he was arrested, Winnie told officers he began collecting the underwear in the summer of 2016 and was "conducting an experiment."
