Bartlett market offers holiday shopping and Socially Safe Santa hours
Prestige Creative Markets in Bartlett will participate in the 10th annual Small Business Saturday scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 28, as well as offering a Socially Safe Santa photo op for families.
Now in its second year, Prestige Creative Markets + Nursery is home to more than 90 vendors and shops offering gifts, home décor, jewelry, clothing, furniture and sundries, as well as its seasonal outdoor selections such as a nursery, pumpkins, firewood and fresh holiday greenery. The quaint courtyard has also become a go-to venue for special events.
The 10th annual Small Business Saturday encourages shoppers to shop locally. It will include special sales throughout the market as well as gift baskets and gift certificate raffles.
Since its official opening in June 2019, Prestige Creative Markets + Nursery has more than 90 small business vendors under one roof, but 2020 has brought many challenges.
“It's never been more critical to shop local and support the small businesses that are such an important part of our communities,” said Steve Seyller, who, with his wife Jenay Safranski and mother Gail, launched the Prestige Creative Markets concept with 50 vendors in its 8,000-square-foot location on Army Trail Road in Bartlett.
An estimated 97% of shops at Prestige Creative Markets + Nursery are small, woman-owned businesses.
“Just like many of us have done our very best to keep local bars and restaurants afloat since this pandemic began, we must focus attention on those retail establishments that give our communities such unique, irreplaceable character,” Seyller says.
“The holiday season makes or breaks those businesses, and 2020 could redefine retail throughout our region.”
Like many retailers that have had to pivot in 2020, Prestige has boosted its online shopping services, offers curbside pickup and provides a safe in-person shopping experience.
Socially Safe Santa
Socially Safe Santa and Mrs. Claus will be visiting the barn for a no-contact photo opportunity to help keep the magic of the holiday season alive for children of all ages. The holiday backdrop will allow your family safe and comfortable space, all while providing a quality photo with Santa. Socially Safe Santa will take place from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 5-6, 12-13 and 19-20. The cost is $10 per family, per 10-minute session. Prestige Creative Markets + Nursery is at 475 W. Army Trail Road in Bartlett. Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday; noon to 7 p.m. Thursday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. It is closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
