Joseph Upchurch Joins Lavelle Law

Attorney Joseph O. Upchurch has been hired at Lavelle Law. A graduate of the UIC John Marshall Law School, Upchurch had previously clerked at the Schaumburg firm.

"Having seen Joseph work during his year with us as a clerk clearly confirmed his ability in dealing with a number of areas of the law," said Lavelle Law Managing Partner Ted McGinn. "We are fortunate to add him to our team and expect him to be a significant contributor to several of our practice groups."

Upchurch received a BA in Economics from the University of Iowa while also working nearly full-time, serving as a Research Assistant at the Study of Group Processes Laboratory, and serving as Philanthropy Chair for Sigma Alpha Epsilon. At UIC John Marshall he was a multiple-time entry on the Dean's List, was President of the Intellectual Property Law Society, and received multiple scholarships including one from the DuPage Bar Association. He was also a contributing author on several legal articles.

"My time as a clerk at Lavelle Law exposed me to the high standard of work being done by the firm and also engaged my interest in community involvement," Upchurch said. "From a professional perspective, I became an attorney to solve problems. My intent is to always have the determination and dedication to find comprehensive and sensible solutions for my client's problems. My colleagues at Lavelle Law have helped me build the foundation to pursue those objectives."

Upchurch will work across multiple groups including litigation, business, personal injury, and family law.
