Rebranded FamilyForward raises $50,000 with fundraiser
Arlington Heights-based nonprofit Faith Community Homes is now FamilyForward.
The organization officially unveiled the new branding at its annual Giving Hope fundraising event, recently held online via Zoom. Giving Hope brought in more than $50,000 to assist low-income, working families in the Northwest suburbs as they continue to face struggles only aggravated by the pandemic.
Despite its virtual format due to COVID-19 uncertainties, "Giving Hope met all expectations, thanks to many committed supporters who logged on and tuned in," said Tim Wayman, chairman of the FamilyForward board of directors.
This year's expedited program on Zoom was designed to engage and encourage, turning what would normally be a regular Thursday evening into an inspirational time of celebration for supporters and partners.
"Just like in previous years, Giving Hope highlighted the important work we do to equip and empower low-income families," Wayman said.
The Giving Hope program included livestream and video presentations, testimonials by supporters and volunteers, an online auction and a door prize drawing. The most inspirational portion of the evening was the opportunity to hear a family share how their lives were changed through their involvement with FamilyForward.
The evening also featured the debut of the organization's rebranding video (found at family-forward.org), which recalls its founding in 2003 as Faith Community Homes, illustrates how families are currently served, and demonstrates why the time is right to rename and rebrand.
The new name captures the essence of what the organization does. FamilyForward is also more identifiable to both families who need help and those who may consider supporting the organization's work.
FamilyForward is continuing in its mission to serve low-income, working families in the Northwest suburbs by providing rent assistance and mentoring services for up to two years. Its targeted program helps participants learn, and put into practice, solid financial principles and develop important career advancement and life skills.
Families meet with trained volunteer mentors and professional coaches throughout their time in the program.
