'What's the Why' for the Brand-New 'Future Stars'?

It started out with a conversation between friends and business associates about where a talented teenage rock band might perform on stage to get some 'real world' experience. What it's now become is an instant hit - called "Future Stars."

Created, produced, and emceed by the founders of Love Local Off 53 and Vicarious Multimedia; Jason Stallard and Melanie Santostefano (respectively), Future Stars has struck a nerve in the youth music and entertainment scene. The event is meant to encourage young singers or bands with members up to the age of 18 (senior in high school) to continue to develop their talents by getting them up on stage in front of a crowd. Future Stars is always looking for new talent to perform at future events. Please submit demos to be considered by emailing engage@vicariousmm.com.

The first event took place Sunday, Oct. 23, at nationally known entertainment venue, Durty Nellie's at 180 N. Smith Street in downtown Palatine. While the second event will again be held there on the main stage, Future Stars is poised to become a 'moving event' that is held at entertainment venues around the Chicago area.

"Future Stars is all about giving young entertainers a venue and the right type of promotion through professional PR and marketing, so they can get in front of a crowd and continue to hone their craft," Santostefano said. "These teenagers are so passionate about their music; they've got big dreams and we're providing a place and an event where they can showcase their talents."

Some pretty exciting anticipation is a big part of Future Stars - not only for the performers, but also their friends and family who come to cheer them on.

"What was so great at our first Future Stars was seeing how excited these young people were, to be able to perform on the big stage," Stallard said. "It really does create a positive environment of community, encouragement, growth and development for these budding entertainers."

Vicarious Multimedia is a communications firm that specializes in marketing and public relations - and Love Local Off 53 is a community-building brand that highlights businesses and organizations in the Northwest suburbs through videos and podcasts. Both organizations have put their full weight and professional expertise behind promoting and growing the Future Stars event.
