Fox Valley Music Foundation to host benefit concert on Giving Tuesday Nov. 30

Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. The Fox Valley Music Foundation needs your help to reach its fundraising goals on Tuesday, Nov. 30.

Donations can be made online at www.themusicvenue.org

Each year, the foundation wraps up their Giving Tuesday campaign with a benefit concert. This year's musical performance will include the Pete Ellman Jazz Big Band with Hinsdale Central High School for the opening set. Suggested donation $5 for the concert, plus pay what you can, to attend the benefit with music, food, raffles, giveaways and more.

Now that The Venue is up and running again after a 16-month mandated closure, the Music Foundation is laser focused on the educational component of its mission and needs your help!

Funds raised on Giving Tuesday will go directly to its educational initiatives which include a weekly Big Band Residency program in collaboration with the Pete Ellman Jazz Big Band NFP, a free bimonthly lecture series titled "Rock Talk," hosted by professor Mark Plummer of Aurora University and the upcoming launch of a monthly singer/songwriter showcase curated by musician Dave Ramont, which will allow musicians and songwriters to form collaborations and perform at The Venue.

"We are super excited about our new educational programs and are looking forward to sharing them with our patrons," said Melissa Mercado, executive director. "If you give where you live, everyone benefits - friends, family, neighbors and community. Your continued support means the world to us!"

The Venue, a 200-seat live music listening room operated by the Fox Valley Music Foundation and staffed by volunteers, presents local, regional, national and international music performances. The space serves as a central location for musicians and music lovers to congregate, interact, share, develop and perform music, as well as sharing the rich music history of the region with the larger community. Other funding is being obtained through membership, sponsorship, grants, donations and concert revenue.

The Fox Valley Music Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Its mission is to preserve, promote and present the music of the Fox Valley region of Illinois, while providing music education to people of all ages, and from all walks of life. For more information, visit www.foxvalleymusicfoundation.com.
