A Glendale Heights man who prosecutors say entered a Streamwood woman's home and struck her pleaded guilty to home invasion Friday.

In exchange for his guilty plea, Terrell Wilson, 31, was sentenced to seven years in prison. He received credit for 453 days in custody. His attorney requested he be placed in a substance abuse treatment program while in prison.

According to prosecutors, the woman arrived home on Jan. 11, 2020, to find Wilson there. She knew Wilson from a prior dating relationship.

"During the course of their interaction, he grabbed and struck her about the body several times," said Assistant Cook County State's Attorney Shilpa Patel.

The woman escaped and ran to a neighbor's home, where she called the police.
