Do you have spare time? Are you looking for ways to be active in your community?

On Saturday, Aug. 24, the Bloomingdale Public Library will sponsor the fourth annual Volunteer Fair.

This is a free event for teens, adults, families and retirees to get information regarding volunteer opportunities in our community.

Hands On Suburban Chicago will offer the presentation "Volunteering 101" at 9:30 a.m. with 15-plus booths open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the library, 101 Fairfield Way.

This event is free and open to the public.

The Bloomingdale Public Library, founded in 1975, provides access to high-interest, high-demand, informational, educational, cultural, and recreational library materials and services in a variety of formats and technologies to approximately 22,000 residents of the Village of Bloomingdale and the surrounding areas.

The library strives to stimulate a desire to learn in children and encourage lifelong learning for all ages and to be responsive to the needs of the community with useful and timely access to knowledge, information, and resources.
