I loved the Ferris wheel with the LED lights changing constantly. You never know what you will get until the exposure is done. Fireworks were also happening at the same time, and were also on a time exposure. I married the fireworks to the Ferris wheel to fill in the open spaces. I love photographing the summertime carnivals.

A steam locomotive 765 from 1944 made a special run on June 12th from Glenview, stopping in Fox Lake, then on to Janesville, Wis. The train was pulling more than a dozen vintage passenger cars, such as Nickel Plate Road, Norfolk Southern and the Northern Pacific.

I thought this picture of a drab communist-built apartment building in Warsaw reflected in the mirrored windows of the ultra-modern Supreme Court building summed up the meeting of the old and new perfectly.
