'Spring Ring' at United Protestant Church on April 24

The Grace Notes Bell Choir of United Protestant Church of Grayslake will present a "Spring Ring" concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 24, in the UPC Sanctuary.

The concert will feature music from a variety of seasons of the church year performed by the five-octave, 12-member bell choir, plus a quartet. The concert is part of the UPC Concert Series.

A freewill offering to support the UPC music ministry will be taken. Refreshments will be available following the concert.

The next concert series event will be a jazz performance by the Jon Rarick Nonet July 31. Rarick is a jazz composition graduate student and trumpet player at the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester in New York. He is a 2015 graduate of Elmhurst College and a 2010 graduate of Grayslake North High School.

The United Protestant Church of Grayslake is affiliated with the United Church of Christ Fox Valley Association and the United Methodist Church Northern Illinois Conference.

The church is in historic downtown Grayslake, 54 S. Whitney St. Worship services are at 8:15 and 10:30 a.m. Sundays, with Christian education for all ages at 9:15 a.m. Sundays during the school year.
