Debt growth under Madigan: bad math

The first year Mike Madigan was elected to the Illinois House of Representatives was 1971. That was 45 years ago when the the debt for the state of Illinois was $1.7 billion.

Today, 45 years later, the total debt for the state of Illinois is $127 billion.

Illinois' debt is 75 times more than it was when Mr. Madigan took office.

So it seems that our legislature under Mr. Madigan, has spent on average almost $2.8 billion more than Illinois had every year for 45 years.

That's not new math, that's just bad math.
