Apply now for annual Art and Soul show

Artist applications for the eighth annual Art and Soul on the Fox juried show in downtown Elgin are available. Interested artists will submit four images of their current work for consideration by the jury, pay a nonrefundable $10 application fee, and complete the online application at www.elginartandsoul.com.

An option for applying by mail is also available as explained on the website. The deadline for receipt of all applications is midnight Monday, Feb. 29.

Art and Soul on the Fox is the first weekend in August with the 2016 show being held 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7. The juried artist selections ensure that Art and Soul on the Fox is a well-balanced show, exhibiting a wide variety of original quality works.

Cash prizes for first, second, and third places and six certificates of merit, provided by Art for All, will be awarded as determined by the decisions of a professional judge. Additional artwork, though not included in the judging, will be on exhibit inside the Elgin Artspace Gallery.

The annual show is located in downtown Elgin on South Grove Avenue, and South Spring Street, connected by DuPage Court. It also includes regional entertainment and children's activities.

A collaborative effort of the City of Elgin and Art for All, a 501(c)3 nonprofit artist organization, Art and Soul on the Fox features generous booth spaces, outstanding artist hospitality, and the most affordable fine art show booth fees in the region.
