Nation will feel wrath of Obamacare

Regarding Mike Simon's letter concerning a lemon law for Obamacare ... Amen!

I am self-insured also. For 15 years I had affordable BCBS health insurance. I had dental and prescription coverage. I could go to any hospital and any doctor.

On Oct. 1, 2013, when Obamacare went into effect, my policy was canceled because it did not meet the new Obamacare standards. My new policy was more than double the premium with a drastic increase in the deductible to $6,000. I could not keep my doctor, of 30 years, and the nearest hospital covered is more than 30 miles away.

On Oct. 1, I received a letter that even that policy is now canceled as, again, it does not meet the newest regulations. The premium has increased 38 percent for the absolute cheapest coverage I can get. There are six changes, and all are bad, including my $12,000 deductible. If I need help while out of the country, I am not covered at all.

I am now a second-class citizen. I use to be like most citizens and could go to any hospital, especially in an emergency, but now I cannot. I still go to my doctor of 30 years, but I now have to pay rack rate. Who is the government to tell me who my doctor is? If I have an accident, why I am not allowed to go to the nearest hospital?

We self-insured people know what a catastrophe Obamacare is. Most people receive insurance from their employers. The mandates have been delayed for employer funded plans until after the election. Soon, the whole country will feel the effects of this terrible law. Not one single Republican voted for Obamacare; it was foisted on us by the Democrats who exempted themselves from it.
