Oak Brook Park District receives multiple awards in statewide competitions

The Oak Brook Park District has been recognized with four statewide awards from the Illinois Park and Recreation Association [IPRA] and Illinois Association of Park Districts [IAPD].

The park district placed in three categories during this year's IPRA/IAPD Agency Showcase competition, taking home first place in the Green Marketing Category for its repurposed vinyl padfolios. The district also placed first in the Paid Advertisement category and second in the Social Media category.

58 park, recreation and conservation agencies in Illinois entered 271 submissions that were judged during IPRA/IAPD's annual conference in Chicago on January 22, 2015.

The IAPD also selected a photograph taken by Oak Brook Park District's graphic designer, Greg Wooley, as the first place winner in the Nature Category of the annual IAPD Give Us Your Best Shot Photo Contest.

According to Jessica Cannaday, Oak Brook Park District's marketing manager, the agency works towards creating a responsive, engaging communication strategy that focuses on receiving community feedback and making constituents aware of what is offered at the park district. "We're very proud that our communication efforts have been recognized as some of the best in our field," says Cannaday.
