This is a photo of a glacier in Glacier Bay Alaska. My wife and I were on an Alaskan Cruise in 2008, when we woke up one morning to look out our window to see glaciers all around us. They really are that blue. Dan Zyburt of West Dundee, IL 60118
I took this photo Oct 20th at Starved Rock State Park. I Always look forward to the color change of Fall, and where better to see it than Starved Rock. We spent roughly nine hours hiking and shooting the leaves above and only a few minutes looking down. When I finally looked at this pic on the screen and jacked up the magnification by 200x I was impressed with the texture, form, and the small details. The droplets of water that captured the blue sky were the biggest surprise. Tony Pocewicz, of Carpentersville
Walkers with umbrellas make there way along the streets in Dublin, Ireland during a light rain. Nancy Giardina of Libertyville
When we were at the Korean War Veterans Memorial we happened upon a large group of Honor Flight Veterans. It was moving to see them and to hear the crowds of tourists continually greeting the Veterans, thanking them for their service. The seated veteran in this photo, whose hat read "Pearl Harbor Survivor," was having his picture taken at the favorite spot of the Honor Flight Guide with him , whose hat read 'Vietnam Veteran'. The flag was positioned backward on the Vet's lap so that its reflection on the wall, with the word 'Freedom' above it, was in the proper position. It was a beautiful, moving site to witness. Julie Moore, of Wheaton
This photo was taken at Herrick Lake. I call it Autumn Ripples. The water was choppy and the sun was just setting making for a nice abstract photo. Todd A. Sherlock, of Downers Grove
This is a sunrise at Matthessin State Park. David Neesley of Naperville
